Rebecca Henry regresa a su 'alma mater' en los veranos para enseñar en la Indiana University Summer String Academy y en el Teacher's Retreat for Professional Violinists and Violists. Además fue profesora asistente de viola en el Gettysburg College Sunderman Conservatory durante ocho años.

Rebecca Henry has developed one of the premier pre-college string programs at the Peabody Preparatory of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland over the last thirty years while also teaching Violin and String Pedagogy at the Peabody Conservatory and the University of Maryland. She has created a rich and supportive environment in which thirty string faculty work together and continually evolve in search of effective and creative ways to train and inspire young string players from their beginnings in the Young People’s String Program and into a variety of programs depending on their interests. Serious students will enter the Performance Academy for Strings or Pre-Conservatory Violin Program, which include solo, chamber and orchestral training, classes with guest artists, and rehearsal time with a professional pianist. Conservatory students in the Performance/Pedagogy Master’s Degree have a fertile training ground for their growth as budding teachers as they observe and assist in the Preparatory. Ms. Henry’s former students are performing and teaching around the world.
Each year Ms. Henry also teaches a series of four Pedagogy Master Classes and Teacher Workshops with varying topics (www.peabody.jhu.edu/pedagogymc).
Ms. Henry returns to her alma mater in the summers to teach at the Indiana University Summer String Academy and Teacher’s Retreat for Professional Violinists and Violists and was Assistant Professor of Viola at the Gettysburg College Sunderman Conservatory for eight years.
She has presented master classes and teacher workshops for organizations and schools throughout U.S. and in Canada, Scotland and Turkey, co-edited a series of contemporary music for violin ensembles with Mimi Zweig (“What’s New” at oneworldstrings.com), is Principal Violist of the Washington Chamber Orchestra and a member of a faculty quartet.
As co-founder with Phyllis Freeman of www.ViolinPractice.com, she has created a website of over 1500 pedagogy and guided practice videos that support students, teachers and parents in their journey towards effective and creative practice. Violin Practice Method for beginners, VP Pedagogy for teachers and teens, and VP Warm Ups to train skills at all levels regardless of the method in which they study, are hallmarks of the site.
