Violin and viola pedagogy
TABEA ZIMMERMANN
In this online workshop, the highly-acclaimed violist and pedagogue Prof. Tabea Zimmermann will explore the interconnections between sound production, intonation, resonance and inner listening in playing and teaching. Special emphasis will be placed on the importance of harmonics, examining how they can serve as an extremely valuable pedagogical tool. Through a combination of explanation, practical exercises and reflective discussions, the session aims to deepen participants' understanding of these fundamental musical areas and how to teach them. Participants are encouraged to have their instruments at hand and are invited to ask questions which will enrich our collaborative learning environment.
This workshop is for violin and viola teachers, advanced students with an interest in pedagogy, as well as anybody interested in its content.
On the day after the workshop at 9 a.m. (CET), participants will receive private access to watch the recording during the next week, until Monday 5 May at 9 a.m. (CEST). This access is protected with password and IP identification.
To obtain a certificate of attendance it is necessary to attend the workshop live and to be in front of the active camera for at least 80% of the total time.
