Andr\u00e9s Ortiz combines his concert career which an intense pedagogic work. He performs regularly as a soloist and as a chamber musician in numerous concert halls in Europe and the United States, such as the Chicago Cultural Center, the Phillips Collection in Washington, the Yamaha Salon in New York, the Palau de la M\u00fasica in Valencia, the C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes and the Fundaci\u00f3n Juan March in Madrid. He has made live recordings for Radio T\u00e9levision Suisse, WTFM in Chicago, the Phillips Collection in Washington and Yamaha Artist Services in New York. He has premiered works by important composers such as Tapestries and Nonsenses for violin and guitar by Tom\u00e1s Marco, Partita II for solo violin by Tom\u00e1s Garrido -dedicated to him by the composer- and the Trio M\u00fasica de C\u00edtaras by Jorge Taramasco. As a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, he has performed under the baton of Sir Colin Davis and Herbert Blomstedt at some of the most important halls in Europe, such as the Royal Concertgebow in Amsterdam, the Royal Albert Hall in London and the Musikverein Grosser Saal in Vienna. He plays regularly with guitarist Pablo Rioja, with whom he forms Animacorde. The duo has recorded the CD \"Revisiting Violin & Guitar\" for Eudora Records, receiving the Mel\u00f3mano de Oro award by specialised critics.<\/h5>
He is a qualified Suzuki teacher by the European Suzuki Association, having received training from Christophe Bossuat, Joanne Martin and Genevi\u00e8ve Proust at the Suzuki Institute in Lyon (France). He has also been trained in Rolland Pedagogy by Lynne Denig, Nancy Kredel and Claudio Forcada. He currently combines his performing career with his role as Co- Director at Centro para la Pedagog\u00eda de los Instrumentos de Cuerda (CEPIC).<\/h5>
Born in Madrid, he studied at the Escuela Superior de M\u00fasica Reina Sof\u00eda, where he obtained the Prize to the Best Chamber Music with Piano Group handed by her Majesty Queen Sophia of Spain. He then pursued his studies at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik Detmold (Germany) and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, with scholarships from the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the Community of Madrid and the Isaac Alb\u00e9niz Foundation. Among his teachers are Santiago de la Riva, Jos\u00e9 Luis Garc\u00eda, Lorenz Nasturica and Simon Fischer, as well as Rainer Schmidt, Marta Gulyas and Eldar Nebolsin in the field of chamber music.<\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
