Juan Carlos Navarro began his musical studies at the Banda Primitiva de Llíria and completed them at the Joaquín Rodrigo Conservatory in Valencia. He has studied under teachers such as V. Huerta, E. Palomares, E. Vidal and S. Castro, and in 2007 he furthered his training at the Barenboim-Said Foundation's Academy of Orchestral Studies. He won the II Ciutat de Llíria National Competition (2006) and was awarded second and third prizes at the Vinaròs Chamber Music Competition (2001 and 2002).
He has collaborated with various Spanish orchestras, including the Valencia City Orchestra, the Principado de Asturias Symphony Orchestra, the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra, the Mediterranean Orchestra, Collegium Instrumentale and the Albacete Symphony Orchestra. Between 2002 and 2004, he was a member of the Murcia Symphony Orchestra. He is first violinist of the Ensemble Espai Sonor, with which he has performed in Spain, France, Brazil, Finland and Chile. With the Turina Piano Ensemble, he has participated in festivals in Potenza (Italy), Bergen (Norway) and various Spanish cities.
Since the 2005–2006 academic year, he has been a violin teacher at the Tomás de Torrejón y Velasco Professional Conservatory of Music in Albacete. He is trained in the Suzuki Method, Rolland Pedagogy, Dalcroze Rhythmics and Music Mind Games. He has taught violin and viola courses in countries such as Spain, England, Ireland, France, Lithuania, Iceland, Poland, Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Scotland, Sweden, Italy and the Netherlands.
He has also provided pedagogical training for teachers in Iceland, Denmark and Poland, and has participated as a speaker at conferences of the European String Teachers Association (ESTA) in Sweden and Portugal, as well as the European Suzuki Association (ESA) in Poland. In Spain, he has taught training courses in regions such as Catalonia, Castile and León, Murcia, Valencia, Andalusia, La Rioja and Galicia.
In 2017, he completed a Master's Degree in Music Performance and Research at the Valencian International University (VIU). Since 2020, he has been a member of the Board of the European Suzuki Association and is currently a lecturer in the subject ‘String Pedagogy’ on the Master's Degree in Instrumental Pedagogy at Alfonso X el Sabio University.
